UTF-8 should be valid, because we declare the charset in:

  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

If you feel like the UTF-8 complaints are valid, can you post more
details about them?

This attribute seems like it's obsolete [1].
